Job overview

Post holder will be part of the Breast Surgery Team at Churchill Hospital responsible for effectively managing the smooth operation of the service, supporting multidisciplinary clinical teams to deliver responsive services to patients referred for assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment.

Main duties

The post is to deliver an effective and efficient administrative office function to support a front line clinical service that delivers daily outpatient clinics.

  • Patient focused, able to communicate with patients and manage information sensitively with attention to detail.
  • Organised, with effective time management skills and able to prioritise workload.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a large MDT team.
  • Flexible and able to cope effectively under pressure in a fast paced clinical service.
Specification Education and Qualifications
  • Good standard of education with a minimum of five 'C' grade GCSEs (including English and Maths).
  • Competence in use of various computer software packages.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • EPR trained (training available).
Experience and Skills
  • Proven experience within an administrative role.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Evidence of a positive approach to working in complex environments.
  • Experience of setting and maintaining work standards.
  • Ability to provide a range of options to deal with complex working situations.
  • Knowledge of RTT 18 week pathways.
  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Evidence of team working.
