We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Engagement Lead to join our Healthcare team at HMP Whatton, a Category C Prison located in Nottinghamshire.

HMP Whatton is a busy prison with a capacity of around 800 male inmates. The role supports patients by providing presence on the wings to gain constructive feedback and improve the healthcare service, along with duties such as managing stock levels, creating the weekly newsletter, and holding weekly meetings with representatives.

The site offers free parking, a free gym, and a staff canteen.

Hours

Part time role: 18.75 hours per week. Flexible hours and days available.

Salary

Annual salary up to £29,723 FTE, pro rated for 18.75 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

As a Patient Engagement Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Improving and stabilising patient engagement activities and patient satisfaction through effective service user engagement and peer led forums.
  • Planning and delivering projects/programmes in line with patients' needs and priorities, involving patients (where possible) in project and training delivery.
  • Acting as a point of contact and responding to patient engagement enquiries from staff, external partners, and patients.
  • Overseeing and managing the health champion peer support model, including delivery of Health Champion training across the site.
  • Ensuring statutory and organisational requirements are met, and that patient engagement activities are conducted frequently across the site with timely evaluations and feedback communicated with patients, staff, and external partners.
