We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Engagement Lead to join our team at HMP Leeds, a category B male prison located in Leeds. HMP Leeds is a busy remand prison, so we have a high turnover of inmates, which makes for a fast paced, challenging, but exciting environment!
HoursThis is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week.
You will receive an annual salary of £29,264 - £33,510 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job- As the Patient Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for the improvement and stability of patient engagement activities and patient satisfaction through effective service user engagement and peer led forums, the planning and delivery of projects/programmes in line with patients' needs and priorities, involving patients (where possible) in project and training delivery.
- You will act as a point of contact and respond to patient engagement enquiries from staff, external partners and patients. Additionally, within this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the health champion peer support model, including the delivery of Health Champion training across the region.
- You will ensure statutory and organisational requirements are met, that patient engagement activities are conducted frequently across all sites with timely evaluations and feedback/recommendations communicated with patients, staff and external partners where necessary.

Qualifications required- NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
- A non judgmental and compassionate approach.
- GCSE grades C/4 or above in both English and Maths.
- Experience of working as a peer representative in a criminal justice setting.
- Face to face engagement with patients and group facilitation / note taking when necessary.
