Job Description Pathology Manager (Deputy) Exeter Hospital Pathology Permanent Full Time Up to £55,000.00 per annum, dependent on experience 37.5 hours per week
Main duties of the job- Supervise and support pathology staff in the day to day operation of the department
- Lead work scheduling, rotas, and workforce planning
- Contribute to recruitment, performance reviews, appraisals, and absence management
- Participate in on call rota
- Support and oversee training, development, and mentoring of the team
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards, and audit frameworks
- Attend key management meetings, including the Integrated Governance Committee
- Hold a current HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council) - essential for this role

About usNuffield Health Exeter Hospital is based next to RD&E Hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has two theatres, a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre, an endoscopy suite and two ward areas - an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and a radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some joint replacement surgery, for which we are well known.
Qualifications- Hold a current HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council)
