We're looking for a confident and motivated healthcare professional with strong leadership skills and a solid background in pathology to join us as Deputy Pathology Manager at our Exeter Hospital. You will be a collaborative, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a regulated environment and brings positivity and professionalism to a high-performing team.

As our Deputy Pathology Manager, you will:

• Supervise and support pathology staff in the day-to-day operation of the department
• Lead on work scheduling, rotas, and workforce planning
• Contribute to recruitment, performance reviews, appraisals, and absence management
• Participate in on-call rota
• Support and oversee training, development, and mentoring of the team
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards, and audit frameworks
• Attend key management meetings including the Integrated Governance Committee
• Hold a current HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council) - essential for this role

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital

The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
