We are working on behalf of a forward-thinking and supportive secondary school to recruit a Pastoral Year Lead who will play a key role in shaping students' daily experiences and long-term success.
The RoleAs a Pastoral Year Lead, you will be at the heart of student life, leading the pastoral care for a designated year group. You will create a positive, inclusive, and structured environment where students can flourish.
This is a highly rewarding position where you will:
- Lead on behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, and personal development
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families
- Act as a visible and approachable presence throughout the school day
- Identify trends and implement timely interventions to support student success
- Work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, and external agencies
- Experience in pastoral care, student support, or a similar role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
- A calm, proactive, and solution-focused approach
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and succeed
- 37 hours per week, term time + 2 weeks (40 weeks total)
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
