Job title: Pastoral Manager
Contract: Permanent (35 hours per week, term time only)
Salary: Scale 7 S (£34,174 £36,898)
Location: Haberdashers' Knights Academy, Launcelot Road, Bromley, BR1 5EB
Accountable to: Senior Pastoral Manager
Office hours: 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities- Work within and actively promote school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
- Show respect for all members of the school community.
- Liaise regularly with the HOY, Safeguarding Manager and the Leadership Team regarding pupil welfare, attendance and behaviour, keeping detailed evidence of actions and interventions.
- Act as a contact for parents on pastoral matters for key students, ensuring timely and appropriate communication.
- Apply the Academy's attendance policy, encouraging regular attendance and reducing unauthorised absences through proactive communication.
- Maintain accurate pastoral records using CPOMS, the school MIS system and other relevant tools, ensuring data is processed promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on pupils' pastoral development for the Senior Leadership Team, teachers and department heads.
- Maintain consistent implementation of school and Trust policies across all subject areas.
- Work collaboratively with other academies and colleagues within the Trust to promote the Academy's values and ethos.
- Support the Academy's commitment to the continued professional learning of all staff.
- Take additional duties as reasonably required by the Principal or CEO.
- A minimum of English and Maths GCSEs at grade 4/C or equivalent.
- A higher qualification relevant to the post (e.g., a degree in education, management, or a related field).
- Level 3 Safeguarding/DSL training.
- Experience leading and managing people in multi disciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, attendance and behaviour management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with school management systems such as Arbor.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse workload.
- Experience working across a multi academy trust or similar partnership of schools (desirable).
- Confident and effective communicator at all levels.
- Strong team player, collaborative and enthusiastic.
- Positive, can do attitude and high professionalism.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
- Pragmatic, flexible and eager to take initiative.
