Job Description
Veterinary Surgeon - Hertfordshire

Step into a fulfilling role with a friendly and dedicated veterinary practice located in the heart of Hertfordshire. This practice prides itself on delivering exceptional veterinary care to a diverse range of small animals, including dogs, cats, small furries and exotics.

Why Join This Team?

This practice offers a supportive and collaborative environment, where a mature team of experienced staff adopts an open and caring approach. With a guaranteed same-day appointment for ill pets, the practice ensures that urgent needs are met promptly. The central location, complete with parking facilities, makes it convenient for both staff and clients. Additionally, the practice provides an easy repeat prescription service with a postal option, and out-of-hours emergency cover is managed by the reputable Queen Mother Hospital for Animals.

The Role

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will be part of a long serving team (3 Vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN, Practice Manager/Owner and Administrator) led by a Senior Veterinary Surgeon. The practice is small enough to ensure continuity of care, yet large enough to offer specialised services and in house case discussions. You will be responsible for examining pets, advising on the nature and costs of investigations and treatments, and performing both routine and complex surgical procedures in a well equipped surgical suite. The facilities include a preparation room, dedicated operating theatre, recovery room, and in patient facilities, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.

This is a part time opportunity 9am to 2pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 2:5 Saturday (no OOH) - although if more hours were required this could be discussed.

Skills and Experience Required
  • A degree in Veterinary Medicine and registration with the RCVS
  • Experience in small animal practice
  • Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
  • Excellent communication and client care abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
The Practice
