Job Description
Night Support Worker - Stockwell (6 FTC)

Closing date: 14th June 2026

The role builds on customer care, health and safety, flexibility, adaptability, child welfare including preparing for birth, developing positive parenting skills and maintaining their health during pregnancy.

The service focuses on the lives of young mothers and babies in Stockwell, and unaccompanied asylum seeking young men. It is located a 10 minute walk from Stockwell tube station and offers excellent transport links across London. Parking is available on site for colleagues.

Customers come with a range of support needs such as pregnancy and birth, mental health, care leaver status, probation, ex offending, domestic violence, learning disabilities and asylum seeking.

You will provide overnight support to young parents, respond to concerns and support needs as they arise, promote safeguarding and wellbeing, develop effective parenting skills, carry out welfare checks and deliver customer activities and workshops. You will liaise with day support colleagues, service management and external partners to ensure continuity of care and support customers to identify strengths, set goals and work toward independent living.

You will be required to work one day shift per month.

You need knowledge of safeguarding, an understanding of why people become homeless, and the right to work in the UK.

Part Time Receptionist - Ingram Court (6 Months FTC)

Part Time: Thursday and Friday, Time: 9am to 5pm

The role is built on customer care, health and safety, flexibility, adaptability and other skills to assist homeless individuals who are unable to live independently, by offering them the practical and emotional support they need to regain their independence.

Ingram Court is an 80 bed service for single homeless people aged , conveniently located a 10 minute walk from West Croydon station with excellent transport links.

Customers come with a range of support needs such as mental health, care leaver status, probation, ex offending, domestic violence, learning disabilities and asylum seeking.

As a service receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact, provide excellent service to customers, visitors and external agencies, support the team in organising interviews, manage referrals, report repairs and maintenance, deposit rent and service charge payments, and help customers access benefits, housing and education. You will build relationships with external agencies and support customers through their processes to access the services they need.

You need knowledge of safeguarding, an understanding of why people become homeless and the statutory and voluntary resources available to homeless people, and have the right to work in the UK.

Key responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact and deliver the highest standard of customer service to all parties, including customers, visitors and external agencies.
  • Respond to challenging customer situations and deal professionally with emergency services.
  • Act as a central point of contact for external agencies and stakeholders, supporting the team and customers in maintaining good communication and positive working relationships.
  • Be aware of the general wellbeing of customers, highlight concerns including safeguarding matters, and assist with individual queries and requests.
  • Support the team in organising interviews for potential customers, ensuring referral paperwork is delivered, booking interviews, preparing documentation and updating internal and external databases.
  • Be responsive and proactive in dealing with behaviour that causes or is likely to cause nuisance and annoyance to neighbours and the community.
  • Report repairs and maintenance in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Deposit rent/service charge payments in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Take part in activities and provide opportunities that generate aspiration and confidence.
  • Help customers access benefits, housing, education and other support services, building relationships with other organisations.
