Job Description

Abington Medical Centre are looking to recruit a call handler/receptionist/administrator to help ensure the smooth running of a very busy GP Practice. Candidates will be expected to act as a point of contact for communication between patients, doctors, nursing staff and other members of the primary care health team. You will be expected to work under pressure while promoting our high practice standards of customer service.

Main duties of the job

The role will include answering calls swiftly and politely as well as making outgoing calls on behalf of the practice. You will also be working on our reception desk greeting patients and visitors and directing them appropriately.

You may also be asked to carry out administration duties as required by the surgery.

You will be expected to follow practice policies and procedures at all times.

We have an in house computer and operational system which you will be expected to use (full training will be provided). You must be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own. Full training will be provided including an induction program.

All staff must maintain patient and surgery confidentiality at all times.

The practice operates with a multidisciplinary team of experienced General Practitioners, nurses, and administrative staff, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Job responsibilities

The practice is looking for 2 part time staff members to join our team.

Monday - Friday 8.00am 1.00pm

Monday - Friday 1.00pm 6.30pm

Person Specification Qualifications
  • GCSE English and Math
  • Previous experience in GP practice , not essential
