Kingston Rowing Club is looking for enthusiastic, reliablePart-Time Assistant Coaches(both paid and volunteer) to support our diverse range of squads. They cater to high-performance juniors and seniors, university novices, and both racing and recreational masters. If you are a current or former athlete looking to step into coaching, or an experienced coach seeking flexible, part-time hours, they'd love to hear from you. They offer structured mentoring to help you develop your coaching skills.
Role Overview & Availability Key Responsibilities- Coach Support: Assist Head Coaches in delivering structured, high-quality land and water sessions across our various squads.
- Athlete Development: Help prepare and motivate rowers targeting major events, including Henley Royal Regatta, Henley Women's Regatta, and national head races and regattas.
- Session Execution: Lead small groups or launch sessions as directed, ensuring safety, good technique, and positive athlete engagement on the water.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:Strong organisational skills, clear communication, and a strong drive to learn.
Preferred:Previous coaching experience or a background rowing at a junior, university, or senior level.
Qualifications:British Rowing / UKCC Level 2 is preferred, but not essential - we can arrange and support qualification courses for suitable candidates.
About Kingston Rowing ClubFounded in 1858, KRC is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) with nearly 300 active rowers. Based in Kingston upon Thames, we hold a proud tradition of domestic and international success, recognizable worldwide by our scarlet hoops on white.
Salary: Hourly rate commensurate with experience, qualifications, and agreed session availability (unpaid volunteer roles also available).
Type: Part-Time (Flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on squad needs)
