Job Description
Position Description 
- Maintain and perform all official sports field dimensions for baseball diamonds, soccer pitches, bowling greens, etc., including proper lining and grooming procedures for safe playable surfaces.
- Clean and maintain outdoor sports facilities, including players' benches, backstops, fence lines, and areas under bleachers, while attending scheduled tournaments and meeting setup requirements.
- Carry out maintenance tasks with minimal disruption to play.
- Perform splash pad maintenance and daily records; manage litter pick up, trash removal, washroom maintenance, and grass maintenance equipment servicing.
- Maintain playgrounds, repair benches, fences, bleachers, perform grass cutting, weed control, shrub/ tree pruning, and trail grooming.
- Assist with inspecting and monitoring outdoor pool equipment; perform cleaning, painting, vacuuming, shocking, and chlorinating duties.
- Clean and repair buildings: graffiti removal, painting, basic carpentry and plumbing repairs, monitor HVAC, security, and fire systems, and strip/wax floors.
- Engage with the community, fostering public relations and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles (e.g., grass maintenance equipment, tractors, trucks, loaders, water tanks, and small equipment with attachments).
- Perform daily circle checks on all equipment and report defects to the supervisor.
- Maintain written daily records of work related activities.
- Climb, lift, balance, kneel, stoop, walk, and handle materials as required; work outdoors under various weather conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated in a university or college program in horticultural technology, landscape technology, environmental technology, turf management, agriculture, general carpentry, recreational and leisure, or a related field.
- Valid Ontario Class G license and access to a reliable vehicle; must provide a drivers abstract when requested.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, follow verbal and written instructions, complete duties to acceptable quality with minimal supervision, and adhere to Norfolk County health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively.
- Good time management, interpersonal, and communication skills; motivated and hardworking; able to work outside in all weather.
- Skill in safely operating various tools and equipment related to general maintenance.
- Must wear green patch CSA approved safety boots (6-8" ankle coverage) made of suede or leather.
Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
