Role Overview

Fairweather Law is pleased to open applications for our 2026 Paralegal Apprenticeships. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your legal career within a friendly, supportive, family run law firm with offices across Suffolk and Norfolk with a strong track record of trainees progressing into management positions.

Details

Paralegals play a vital part in progressing property transactions and supporting landlord and tenant matters. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals, developing practical legal skills while completing a fully funded Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship through distance learning.

For 2026, apprentices will join one of two specialist teams:

  • Landlord & Tenant

Your exact duties will depend on your team, but you can expect to assist with file administration, client communication, document preparation, legal research, and day to day case progression.

Once you've completed your Paralegal Apprenticeship you can apply to either our Solicitor Apprenticeship or our Legal Executive Apprenticeship.

What You'll Learn

Your apprenticeship training is delivered in twelve structured six week modules, including:

Based on a problem, recurring issue or opportunity within your chosen area.

Entry Requirements
  • Five GCSEs (9-4 / A -C), including English and Maths
  • Three A Levels at grade C or above (or equivalent e.g. BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma at grade MMM or higher)
  • Interest in law, especially property or landlord/tenant
  • Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Reliable, professional, and eager to learn
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Team focused with the ability to work independently
  • Interest in further legal qualifications (CILEX/SQE)
  • Familiarity with legal terminology (not essential)

Successful apprentices may progress into permanent roles or apply for the Solicitor Apprenticeship or CILEX Apprenticeship.

Application Process

The process is broken down into stages:

  • Application form
  • Initial Interview
  • Practical Assessment Task (this may be undertaken on the same day as the departmental interview)
  • Departmental Interview

If you are successful at each stage, you will progress through to the next.

Initial salary will be at apprenticeship rate for the first year.
