About the Role

As a Paralegal in our Health & Social Care team, you'll support fee earners on a wide variety of matters, including regulatory issues, inquests, safeguarding, and contractual work. You'll assist with case progression, legal research, and drafting, while gaining valuable exposure to complex and often high-profile work. This role offers excellent hands on experience and the opportunity to develop your legal knowledge within a supportive and collaborative team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Supporting fee earners with a range of health and social care matters, including regulatory, contractual, and contentious issues.
  • Assisting with cases involving enforcement action, safeguarding matters, criminal investigations, and due diligence.
  • Supporting preparation for Coroners' inquests, including document preparation and witness support.
  • Assisting with professional disciplinary matters and investigations.
  • Drafting legal documents including witness statements, representations, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Conducting legal research and helping to develop practical, client-focused solutions.
  • Attending meetings, hearings, and client discussions where appropriate.
  • Managing delegated tasks and assisting with case progression.
  • Responding to new client enquiries and supporting the promotion of the firm's services.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments within the health and social care sector.
  • Supporting business development activities such as events, networking, and content creation.
  • Building strong working relationships with colleagues across the firm.
  • Ensuring compliance with firm-wide procedures, including AML and file management requirements.
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment (paralegal experience desirable).
  • A strong interest in health and social care law or regulatory work.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Analytical and proactive, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • A team player who collaborates effectively and builds strong relationships.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and client focus.
  • Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a positive and enthusiastic approach.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Generous holiday allowance plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service.
  • Pension scheme and life assurance.
  • Access to flexible benefits.
  • Excellent training and development opportunities.
  • Exposure to complex and rewarding work within a specialist sector.
  • A supportive, collaborative, and inclusive working environment.

If you're looking to build your legal career in a meaningful and fast-paced area of law, we'd love to hear from you.
