An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Paediatric Nurse to join the Paediatric Respiratory Service at the Royal Hospital for Children as a Band 6 Generic Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a part time post (30 hours) Monday to Friday core working hours will to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic nurse with a high level of interpersonal communication skills to support this specific client group. Working autonomously and independently within the context of a supportive and progressive MDT to provide highly specialist knowledge and expertise ensuring seamless family centred evidence based care for patients. The Respiratory team care for children with acute and chronic Respiratory conditions including Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Primary ciliary dyskinesia and Neuro/Respiratory disorders within an inpatient, outpatient and community setting with our vision focusing on the avoidance of hospital admissions and early facilitated discharge of Respiratory patients

Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist knowledge and expertise to support the Paediatric Respiratory Service, ensuring seamless family-centred, evidence-based care for patients.
  • Work autonomously and independently within the context of a supportive and progressive MDT.
  • Care for children with acute and chronic respiratory conditions including asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, primary ciliary dyskinesia and neuro/respiratory disorders in inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
  • Contribute to the service vision focused on avoidance of hospital admissions and early facilitated discharge of respiratory patients.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experienced Paediatric Nurse with a high level of interpersonal communication skills.
  • Band 6 Generic Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist or equivalent experience in paediatric respiratory care.
  • Part-time role; 30 hours per week with core hours Monday to Friday and flexibility to meet service needs.
