Packaging Technologist - Midlands - £30k to £35k pa

Position Overview

Packaging Technologist - Product Design Team. The role focuses on the generation, development and specification of secondary and tertiary packaging components, and the generation and control of artwork with strong commercial acumen, against a backdrop of major capital investment and change.

Key Responsibilities

• Focus on generation, development and specification of secondary and tertiary packaging components.
• Generate and control artwork ensuring it is printable with cost control.
• Consult with the Graphic Design Department and packaging providers.
• Present packaging changes and improvements to Senior Management.
• Challenge status quo and re engineer processes when required.
• Participate in European travel and occasional global travel as needed.

Key Qualifications

• Educated to degree level with a diploma in Packaging.
• Experience in a similar role, preferably FMCG/Retail sector.
• Well versed in Flexographic, Litho and Screen print.
• Ability to consult with the Graphic Design Dept and packaging providers to ensure artwork is printable with a focus on controlling costs.
• Ability to present packaging changes/improvements to Senior Management.
• Dynamic approach to business needs.
• Ability to challenge status quo and re engineer processes as needed.
• Quick learner, willing to learn new skills.
• Resident in the UK and have worked in print, packaging or paper sectors.
