Job Description
Package Manager Responsibilities

EKFB has appointed Package Manager to manage relationships with EKFB and key Routewide suppliers for manufacturing, delivery and installation of products, ensuring timely delivery of high quality materials and supporting our commitment to excellence.

In this role the Package Manager will be the central point of contact within EKFB and between EKFB Projects and Key Suppliers. They will coordinate cross functional delivery teams (quality, engineering assurance, procurement, production and logistics) to align supplier capabilities with business needs, reconcile programme inputs, provide an operational Routewide schedule/programme to suppliers and hold regular progress meetings.

The role includes identifying clashes, nodes and peaks between sections, suggesting alternatives and priorities, consolidating supplier outputs to the Routewide level and reporting to EKFB and SLT on performance. The Package Manager will ensure knowledge sharing, good practice, feedback between sections, develop improvements, maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance through KPIs. They will conduct regular audits, resolve supplier related issues, stay updated on industry trends, manage logistics, support cost variation reconciliation, and handle quality control in line with Contractor requirements.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in package, supplier or supply chain management within major infrastructure, civil engineering, rail or highways projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers and coordinate complex delivery programmes.
  • Good understanding of programme planning, logistics and supplier performance management.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, supplier audits and continuous improvement processes.
  • Commercial awareness, including claims, change control and variation management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and risk management capabilities.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to project delivery.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on HS2, EKFB or similar major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing route wide or multidisciplinary work packages.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and major project commercial processes.
  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership or working towards accreditation.
