Job Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Outreach and Engagement Officer within Affordability.

We are looking for someone driven and supportive to join the team with great passion and focus to engage with customers and partners in communities across the North West. The role provides accessibility for our customers requiring face to face contact with United Utilities and is tasked with raising awareness and improving access to financial support with water bills for our customers across the region.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Responsible for promoting United Utilities affordability schemes with customers through a range of methods including attending community events; providing drop-in water affordability advice and train the trainer sessions.
• Support the Outreach and Engagement Manager in projects and tasks that support OFWAT and business goals. Work with existing partners and organisations such as DWP, Citizens Advice and Money Advice organisations across North West.
• Create and maintain ways to track success and outcomes of Outreach and Engagement effectively.
• Support the wider team to reach affordability and outreach targets, including support for the compliance team.
• Maintain, administrate and promote the use of North West Hardship Hub.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Able to converse politely and positively with a range of customers using multiple channels.
• Have good financial and affordability understanding.
• Awareness of the affordability schemes UU have available.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Full driving licence as travel is required across the North West for this role. (NB: Own vehicle is required for the role, with occasional access to a UU shared vehicle)
