The closing date is 05 February 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Orthopaedic Practitioner with a current British Casting Certificate (BCC) to gain experience working in the plaster room at the Fracture Clinic, eastern RDUH site. The role involves covering maternity leave within the department and is a fixed term, full time contract until 28 February 2027.
Job Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive casting services to the Fracture Clinic and offer same day services to other Trust areas such as Plastics and Orthopaedic ward patients.
- Run a specialist Diabetic high risk casting clinic once a week in partnership with the Podiatry and Foot & Ankle Team, applying Total Contact Casts (TCC) and complex wound care.
- Accept and manage appointments using Mycare/Epic with the necessary training.
- Work Monday-Friday day shifts and maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Current British Casting Certificate (BCC) required. \l
- Experience in a plaster room or fracture clinic setting.
- Knowledge of total contact casts and diabetic wound care preferred.
- Strong communication, organisational and patient care skills.
