Location: Victoria Hospital / Orthopaedic Wards. Salary/Banding: Band 4.
Hours: Post 1: full time (36 hours), Post 2: 0.6 WTE (21.6 hours). Hours may be flexible.
Shift pattern: Frequent weekend working expected.
Job OverviewAssist in delivering physiotherapy to acute orthopaedic wards, primarily caring for patients post orthopaedic surgery including trauma and joint replacement.
Responsibilities- Assist physiotherapist in assessment and treatment of hospital patients.
- Provide information and support regarding daily living aids and appliances.
- Work closely with occupational therapy colleagues.
- Collaborate with the team to support patient recovery and discharge planning.
- SVQ Level III in health sciences or equivalent.
- Evidence of clinical competence in assessment and treatment of patients.
- Understanding of inpatient orthopaedic conditions including fracture management and joint replacement.
- Knowledge of frailty and daily living aids helpful.
- Basic IT knowledge, including word processing.
- Teamworking skills and ability to adapt to change.
Must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
