Put quality at the heart of change. Help shape the future of our systems - and the services they support.
As a Council, we're investing in smarter systems that work better for everyone - from the teams using them every day to the residents they serve. Our new Oracle Cloud platform is a vital part of that, and we're looking for a Test Analyst who can help us get it right. This is your chance to make a real impact - ensuring our systems are reliable, effective and set up for success.
Working Style:
You'll be based in the Borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.
What you'll be doing:
As our Oracle Cloud Test Analyst, your job is to make sure our core systems run smoothly, reliably and as they should.
You'll take the lead on testing - planning and writing test cases for everything from new functionality and running unit testing to regular updates and fixes. You'll help identify issues before they become problems, working closely with system administration and business teams to spot bugs, report defects and track them through to resolution.
Each quarter, you'll play a key role in supporting Oracle Cloud updates - monitoring progress, testing changes, and keeping stakeholders informed along the way. You'll also work with colleagues across departments to understand their needs and translate them into effective test strategies.
Your work will directly support the continuous improvement of our Oracle Cloud system - helping teams work smarter, residents get better service, and our organisation deliver more for the borough.
For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification.
What you'll bring
You're an experienced Test Analyst with a strong background in system testing - ideally with hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud applications (or similar ERP platforms). You understand how large, integrated systems work and what it takes to keep them running smoothly.
You know how to develop and run clear, reliable test plans and test scripts. You've got a keen eye for detail, a logical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to explain technical findings in plain English - whether that's to system administration colleagues, service leads or senior stakeholders.
You're comfortable in a dynamic, evolving environment - open to change and full of ideas about how to improve. This is a new system, a new team and a new role, so we're looking for someone who's proactive, collaborative and ready to shape how we do things from the ground up.
Experience with automated testing tools, SQL, or Agile ways of working would be a bonus - but it's your approach, curiosity and communication skills that will matter most.
Why join us
At RBKC, we're all in - investing in our people, our communities and our future.
You'll join a forward-thinking digital team at a crucial time - helping embed a brand-new Oracle Cloud system and shape how it's used across the Council. This is a role with visibility, variety and real potential to grow. You'll have the support of experienced colleagues, access to training, and the chance to influence how we use technology to serve our borough better.
It's meaningful work, too - improving systems that underpin everything from payroll to procurement, and that ultimately help us deliver for the residents who rely on our services.
