Job Description

Purpose:

Provide administrative and transactional HR support across the entire employee lifecycle, including Learning & Development, HR Administration, and Resourcing. Ensure accurate data processing and timely responses to queries in line with policy and legislation.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • Develop a wide understanding of the HR & OD Function and the end to end colleague journey, including policies, terms and conditions, practices and procedures.
  • Deliver accurate and timely HR administration across all colleague lifecycle processes.
  • Ensure all query responses and processing meets legislation, policy, procedure and SLA requirements.
  • Process, maintain and store data and records, ensuring data integrity and GDPR compliance.
  • Support Learning & Development activities.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding administration.
  • Triage and risk assess queries, signposting and escalating where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within HR processes including developing FAQ's on all areas allowing for consistency of advice.
  • Feed ideas, observations and suggestions for improvements when they become apparent.
  • Work with other areas across the HR & OD function and the wider Council to deliver organisational objectives.
  • Share expertise and skills with others in the team.
Supplementary Accountabilities
  • Support with any ad hoc projects as required by the business.

  • Be confident in giving accurate and timely responses on a range of HR queries.
  • Works within established policies and procedures. Escalates complex issues to the Colleague Experience Lead.
  • Manage a varied workload and demonstrate an ability to prioritise and meet regular deadlines.

  • Proactively make suggestions to improve processes and workflows. Insert elements of the job where creativity and innovation are required.
Qualifications:
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (including English and Maths) - Essential
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Experience in HR administration or similar support role - Essential
  • Understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation - Desirable
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications - Desirable
  • Strong attention to detail - Essential
  • Good communicator and able to build and develop relationships with internal and external customers - Essential
  • Able to work constructively as part of a team understanding and supporting others - Essential
  • Able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality - Essential
  • Quick learner able to easily adapt to changing processes - Essential
