Monday to Thursday 07.30 - 16:00 (30 minute lunch break unpaid) Friday 07:30 - 12:30 paid 37 hour week

Job Purpose: To assist in the maintenance of the housing departments Sheltered/Communal landscaped areas and to assist with the Housing departments GMS service through the summer months

Working in all climatic conditions you will be working alongside and supporting the Boroughs core team of skilled and semi skilled gardeners across the whole of the Borough maintaining flower beds, Shrub beds, hedges , grass areas.

The use of mechanical equipment such as mowers, Hedge cutters, strimmers, blowers, pedestrian mowers on a regular basis should be expected.

Bending, lifting, carrying, weeding, walking and general manual labour are all a part of this role.

We are a fully mobile Landscaping service subsequently all candidatesmust have a full, current U.K. driving licence that covers a manual gearbox . You must be willing to operate Light goods vehicle's such as Transit tipper van etc.

PA1 /PA6 weed control licence an advantage but not necessary.

Successful candidates will be representing Swindon borough Council and subsequently will be expected to act in accordance with the Boroughs employee policy.

Note if Climatic conditions occur such as drought etc. where our work load is reduced the borough reserves the right to cancel contracts accordingly.
