Optometrist Job Summary:

We are recruiting a Full-Time Optometrist to join a well-equipped and community-focused practice based at 1C Easter Road, Edinburgh, EH7 5PH. The practice is open Monday to Friday 09:00-18:00 and Saturday 09:00-17:30.

This modern branch features two test rooms and a dedicated pre-screen room, running an average of 7-8 optical clinics per week, alongside an audio clinic once per fortnight. While most days you will be working alongside another Optometrist, there will be some occasions where you will be required to solo test.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality eye examinations and patient care

Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment including OCT and visual fields

Manage routine and more complex clinical cases confidently

Provide clear advice and recommendations to patients

Maintain accurate and compliant patient records

Work effectively with the wider in-branch team

Support the smooth running of clinics, including solo testing days

Team Development:

You will be supported by a friendly and experienced in-branch team, including a Branch Manager, Dispensing Optician, and Customer Care Assistant. The practice encourages collaboration, shared learning, and a supportive working culture.

GOC registered Optometrist

Confident working independently when required

Patient-focused with a strong commitment to clinical excellence

Comfortable working as part of a close-knit team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
