An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Ophthalmology Administration Team at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprentice. This is a fantastic chance to begin or develop your career in healthcare administration while gaining valuable experience in a busy, supportive clinical environment.
To be eligible for the apprenticeship programme, you must meet the minimum entry requirements set by the training provider. As part of this role, you will receive full support, training, and guidance to successfully achieve the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, helping you build strong administrative, organisational, and communication skills that will support your future career.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder is to work within the Head & Neck and Ophthalmology department and provide an administrative support service for the Medical/Support Secretaries and Co ordination team, helping to prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met. Induction Training to be given in the Department.
Develop and maintain effective communication skills to ensure a high quality service is provided when liaising with patients, GP's and all other internal and external contacts.
To maintain good communication with health professionals and other groups within the Trust to ensure that patients receive appropriate and timely care.

Person Specification Qualifications- Minimum of 4 GCSE's or equivalent A D (9 4) (this must include Maths and English Language or equivalent)
- Must meet the minimum requirements of training provider for access to the apprenticeship programme
- BTEC/Level 2 qualification in Business Administration
- ECDL/CLAIT/GCSE or equivalent.
- Formal typing / word processing qualification
- Work Experience in an administrative workplace
- Experience of team working this could be at school/college
- Experience of liaising with the public on the telephone and face to face
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of administrative working processes and procedures
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and Confidentiality
