Are you an experienced Operations Supervisor, Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Team Leader looking for your next challenge?

We are recruiting for an Operations Supervisor to join a growing manufacturing business where you will play a key role in driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement across the operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring production targets are achieved in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day manufacturing operation, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with production, quality, engineering and management teams to ensure resources, equipment and processes are aligned to support business objectives and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise day to day manufacturing activities
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across the operation
  • Conduct safety inspections and support risk assessment activities
  • Drive quality standards and ensure compliance with operational procedures
  • Manage staff performance, training and development
  • Coordinate resources to ensure production plans are achieved
  • Monitor productivity and operational performance against KPIs
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost and delivery
  • Manage work in progress (WIP), materials and product control processes
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and operational readiness
  • Facilitate problem solving activities to minimise downtime and improve efficiency
  • Work closely with internal departments to support business objectives
The Candidate

The successful candidate will have previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment.

You will be a proactive and organised leader with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Experience Required
  • Previous experience as an Operations Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Leader, Shift Manager or similar
  • Experience leading and developing operational teams
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production environments
  • Experience managing health and safety activities, including risk assessments and safe working practices
  • Knowledge of quality processes, non conformance management and continuous improvement
  • Experience delivering production targets and operational KPIs
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
Desirable
  • IOSH qualification or similar health and safety training
  • HNC/HND in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Previous involvement in new product introduction (NPI) projects
