Position Overview

As the Manager of Compliance Operations you will lead a team of Associate Managers and experienced compliance professionals to deliver a world class experience for Coinbase customers across CX verticals (Retail Enhanced Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring & Retail Screening). You will be responsible for the delivery and execution of customer support, monitoring service quality, and implementing process improvements to ensure seamless operations. The role involves building, growing, and managing a high performing and diverse team across multiple locations, with a focus on achieving production & quality KRAs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute strategic plans and meet operational and business goals.
  • Leverage quantitative decision making, drive business/operations metrics, and adopt new tools and resources.
  • Maintain high attention to detail and manage multiple, competing priorities with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
  • Apply strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership, efficient execution, and a culture of ownership, continuous learning and positive energy.
  • Ensure high quality standards for interviewing and raise the bar with each hire at all levels.
  • Accelerate team engagement, solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges.
  • Establish objectives and metrics for quality, productivity and customer experience.
  • Execute people programs on coaching, development and team engagement.
  • Focus on growth opportunities, including development of managers and learning opportunities across multiple subject areas.
  • Delegate tactical responsibilities and set clear performance expectations across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives, including strategic projects with network wide impact.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of AML or Financial Crime Compliance experience, with a focus on delivering differentiated support strategies.
  • Understanding of banking regulations, payment processes, compliance, consumer and/or institutional operations.
  • Proven experience as a Compliance Manager with in depth knowledge of the industry's standards, regulations and best practices.
  • Analytical mind capable of identifying "Eliminate, Automate and Optimize" opportunities by partnering with required stakeholders.
  • Experience revising procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or non conformity issues.
  • People management experience with a track record of employee development (selection and retention).
  • Responsible for monitoring audits, internal audits, 2nd LOD reviews and executive escalations.
  • Oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies, evaluating and improving their efficiency.
  • Build support strategies and scale teams across workflows and processes (Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring).
  • Manage partnerships and maintain cross functional relationships both vertically and horizontally.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information across functions and regions.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the evolving needs of a high growth, fast paced organization.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Nice to Have
  • Relevant industry certifications, e.g., ACAMS, Financial Crimes.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement across multiple functions and ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience in project management and analytics.
  • Advanced degree in Compliance or business; a certified compliance professional is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of Google apps, Looker Dashboards, JIRA, Salesforce Service Cloud.
Pay Transparency Notice

Target annual salary range: €106,100 - €106,100 EUR. Full time offers also include target bonus, target equity and benefits (including medical, dental and vision).
