A leading printing company has an opening for an Operations Manager. The role drives cultural and quality change within production and warehouse facilities, supporting the Production Manager and Warehouse Manager to implement best practice processes that improve quality control, reduce waste, and maintain or enhance efficiencies.
Main Job Purpose
Provide shop floor oversight and mentoring of production staff to raise standards, improve processes, and instil a culture of pride and ownership in the products made. Support the Production Manager in delivering excellent health and safety processes and discipline, and collaborate with production and finance management to maximise the use of the ERP and production management system for improved stock accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Training and mentoring of production staff
- Develop and implement working practice improvements to optimize production capabilities and ensure lead times are achieved at the highest level of QC.
- Monitor, coach, and develop production staff to maximise potential and achieve job satisfaction.
- Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with design specifications and customer requirements.
- Be a visible shop floor leader who measures, records, and accurately reports manufacturing output and capacity.
- Support the Production Manager in preparing the Production Budget and Strategy.
- Ensure all work is carried out with the strictest attention to Quality Management.
- Comply with and support Health, Safety and Environmental statements, policies, and procedures.
Must Have
- Clear and persuasive communication skills with staff and clients.
- Tenacity, confidence, and personal authority to challenge and drive action and change.
- Planning and organisation skills to assist in running and monitoring the production process.
- Ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment related problems.
- Experience with ISO standards and the certification process (ideally).
- Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlines.
- Logical, systematic work approach.
- Collaboration with colleagues across multiple functions.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to multi task.
