About the Company

Artemis Human Capital is recruiting for an Operations Manager on behalf of a leading manufacturer in the Dungannon area. With a workforce of over 350 employees their business is built on innovation, quality, and efficiency. As they continue to grow, they are seeking an Operations Manager with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to drive operational excellence and develop a robust operational framework across the site.

Role Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations, optimising performance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This role will focus on developing and implementing operational structures, improving productivity, reducing waste, and ensuring efficient resource utilization to meet strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of daily production operations across multiple departments.
  • Develop and implement a structured operational framework to support growth and scalability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, VSM, SMED, Standard Work).
  • Identify, analyse, and eliminate sources of waste (materials, time, motion, energy).
  • Collaborate with wider teams to improve process reliability and product quality.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure productivity, efficiency, and performance.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to optimise workflow, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and employee engagement throughout operations.
  • Support training and development of team leaders and supervisors in Lean and CI principles.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and continuous cost reduction programs.
Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years in an operational leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, resource management, and process optimisation.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving measurable waste reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
  • Data-driven approach with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
