Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a growing and ambitious Plastics / Fabrication company to recruit a newly created Operations Manager position. This role has been introduced as a direct result of continued growth, with the business now targeting £10 million turnover.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced operations professional to take full ownership of site performance and oversee the complete operational process from point of sale through to final delivery.

The Role

The Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring that all departments operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with commercial objectives. You will manage the full lifecycle of projects - from initial order confirmation, planning and production, through to quality control and final dispatch.

This role requires a hands on leader who can streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and build scalable systems to support the company's next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all site operations across production, fabrication, and dispatch
  • Manage the end-to-end process from sales handover to finished product delivery
  • Lead production planning to ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce wasteMonitor KPIs, performance metrics, and operational costs
  • Develop and implement robust systems and procedures to support growth to £10m turnover
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety and quality standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisory and production teams
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Senior Leadership to align operational capacity with commercial demand
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Senior Production/Manufacturing leadership role
  • Background within Plastics, Fabrication, Manufacturing, or a similar production environment
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end operational processes
  • Experience managing growing teams and scaling operations
  • Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and improving margins
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability and performance
  • Solutions-focused, hands on, and comfortable in a fast paced environment
