Lisbon Full-time Weekdays
Duro de Matar is a growing hospitality company based in Lisbon, with multiple concepts and moving parts under one organisation. Our business currently includes restaurant and bar operations, a coffee concept, multiple locations, logistics, supplier coordination, administration, and new projects in development.
We are a small to mid-sized company growing quickly, and we are looking for an Operations & Finance Associate to help us grow in a more organised, connected, and financially disciplined way.
This is not a pure back-office admin role, and it is not a people-management role. It is a hands-on position for someone who is highly organised, strong with numbers, comfortable with systems and technology, good with people, and able to connect finance, operations, and administration across a fast-moving hospitality business.
You will report directly to the founder and work across the company's different departments and projects.
- Prepare payments and maintain accurate payment tracking
- Support reconciliations and keep financial records, invoices, and supporting documents organised
- Track margins and support reporting and visibility into business performance
- Help connect finance, admin, logistics, and day-to-day operations across the company
- Follow up with suppliers, partners, service providers, and other external contacts
- Draft and send clear, professional emails and written communication when needed
- Attend selected meetings, keep track of action points, and help ensure follow-through
- Maintain order across contracts, invoices, internal trackers, and operational documentation
- Support logistics and coordination across more than one location and concept
- Act as the point of contact for HR-adjacent admin matters such as contracts, timesheets, onboarding paperwork, and related processes
- Work within existing systems and templates while helping improve consistency, structure, and accountability
- Flag issues early and help leadership stay ahead of operational bottlenecks
- Strong organisational skills and close attention to detail
- Experience in operations, finance support, administration, business coordination, or a similar role
- Confidence with payment prep, reconciliations, reporting, and margin tracking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presence and comfort dealing with people internally and externally
- Fluency in Portuguese and English
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Comfort with systems, software, and management tools
- Familiarity with Moloni and other digital tools used in fast-moving businesses
- A proactive mindset and strong follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams without losing track of detail
- Hospitality experience is a big plus, especially for understanding the connection between operations and finance
- Full-time role
- Mainly weekdays and daytime hours
- Primarily based at one location in Lisbon
- Occasional movement to our Time Out Market operation for meetings and coordination
Duro de Matar is not a static company. We are building, expanding, refining, and creating across multiple formats at once. This role is for someone who wants more than a narrow admin job. You'll be working close to leadership, exposed to the real engine room of the business, and given the chance to grow with a company that is ambitious, hands-on, and evolving fast.
If you are excited by hospitality, operations, finance, systems, and helping a growing company become sharper as it scales, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send your CV and a short note explaining why this role interests you and why you think you'd be a fit.
Compensation: competitive and aligned with a strong mid-senior profile, with total package calibrated to experience and tax situation.
