Operational Support Officer (OSO) Nights - At HMP Altcourse

Introduction

We are seeking an operations support officer (OSO) to join our dynamic and diverse environment at HMP Altcourse. The role focuses on maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors and residents, and engaging with all individuals to ensure the highest standards of care and security.

What we are offering

• Salary of £28,021.03
• 40 hours per week - Night shift patterns, 7 days on and 7 days off
• Full paid training provided

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors and residents.
• Create, maintain and promote an environment that demonstrates adherence to safety and security protocols.
• Engage with and manage the people you look after using strong interpersonal skills.
• Build rapport with all colleagues and visitors, acting as the first and last point of contact.
• Perform tasks independently or as part of a team to a high standard without constant supervision.

Qualifications

• High level of interpersonal skills.

• Willingness to challenge inappropriate behaviour calmly.
• Ability to perform tasks alone or in a team to a high standard.

Training

All candidates will undergo a four week training programme, including shadowing experienced colleagues and learning how to deal with conflict, preparing you to work independently as an OSO.
