Overview

London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London's fire and rescue service - one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city. Employing over 5000 people across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer 999 calls), fire safety and our non-operational team (our team who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, which includes Fleet, IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, Communications team and many more).
Responsibilities- Coordinate regional resilience planning and lead on policy development within Operational Resilience.
- Develop and implement resilience-focused initiatives; shape policy; work effectively with senior stakeholders, partner agencies and cross-departmental teams.
- Motivate staff, set priorities and maintain strong working relationships across a wide organisational landscape.
- Manage risks, interdependencies and changing priorities for complex, multi-disciplinary projects from initiation to completion.
- Substantial experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects from initiation to completion, with the ability to manage risks, interdependencies and changing priorities.
- Confidence in shaping resilience-focused initiatives, developing policy, and working effectively with senior stakeholders, partner agencies and cross-departmental teams.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills to manage competing deadlines and solve problems effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information clearly, build productive relationships and lead or contribute to multiple project teams.
- Political awareness, sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential matters appropriately.
- Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, budget management, equalities, health and safety, and relevant legislation including data protection and freedom of information.
- The role is exposed to sensitive material, necessitating Security Clearance or the ability to secure it prior to commencing the role.
