Operational Excellence Manager - Diabetes Division

Company: Abbott Ireland - Diabetes Care Division, Donegal Town.

Location: Donegal Town, County Donegal, Ireland.

The role is responsible for creating and leading operational excellence initiatives across the site, ensuring alignment with company and divisional goals and delivering high-impact, sustainable business results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for operational excellence aligned with company and divisional objectives.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish a multiyear roadmap and implementation plan.
• Engage stakeholders at all levels to build awareness, understanding, and support for change initiatives.
• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the operational excellence program.
• Develop and deploy standardized methodologies, tools, and frameworks such as Shingo, Lean Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to assess effectiveness and impact.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement and involvement in process improvement initiatives.
• Champion high performing teams through Mindful Leader principles where respectful challenge is embraced.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5years of experience in a similar operational excellence role.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification (or equivalent strong analytical and problem-solving skills).
• Track record of successfully leading and managing operational excellence initiatives.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.

Scope and Compensation

This senior role reports to the Operations Manager and leads the operational excellence team.

Base pay: not disclosed; compensation may vary by location.

Medical surveillance required.
