OpenShift Senior Engineer
Whitehall resources are looking for an OpenShift Senior Engineer. This role is hybrid working with 3 days per week onsite in Sheffield, and the remainder remote working, for an initial 3-6 month contract.

Job Description:
The OpenShift Senior Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing robust OpenShift cluster architectures that meet the bank's business and technical requirements. This includes multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployments, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement OpenShift cluster architecture for multi-cloud, hybrid, or on-prem environments.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to align solutions with the bank's strategic roadmap.
- Configure and optimize OpenShift clusters for performance, resilience, and security.
- Integrate OpenShift with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to container orchestration and networking.
- Develop automation scripts and templates for cluster provisioning and life cycle management.
- Ensure compliance with the bank's security and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift (installation, configuration, and administration).
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices architecture.
- Expertise in Linux systems, networking, and security principles.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
