Role Title: OpenShift Platform Architect

Locations: Sheffield - 5 Days per Week Onsite

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)

Rate: £630p/d via Umbrella

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced OpenShift Platform Architects to lead migration initiatives and design robust platform architectures. The role involves working on complex virtualization and containerization projects, ensuring seamless migration across different platforms and architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement OpenShift platform architecture for migration projects.
• Develop migration strategies and processes for applications and containers.
• Work on virtualization technologies, including app and container virtualization.
• Manage storage solutions (Pure Storage, Dell Storage) and network stretching.
• Ensure zero touch build for VMs and automation of deployment processes.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver migration without lift and shift approaches.
• Drive automation using Ansible, AIP platform, and Terraform for shell scripts and VMs.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in OpenShift / OCP platform architecture and migration projects.
• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and containerization.
• Hands on experience with storage solutions (Pure Storage, Dell Storage) and network architecture.
• Expertise in automation tools: Ansible, AIP platform, Terraform.
• Ability to design migration processes for complex, multi platform environments.
• Familiarity with zero touch VM builds and infrastructure automation.

Additional Information

• This is a short term engagement (6 months) with potential for role evolution.
• Candidates must be available on site for all working days.
