Role Summary:
We're seeking a Data Centre Facilities Supervisor to ensure our data centres operate at peak safety, reliability, and efficiency. This role sits at the heart of Era4's mission critical infrastructure, overseeing the electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems that keep our environments stable, secure, and resilient.
You'll take ownership of day to day operations, preventive and predictive maintenance, incident response, and continuous improvement across our facilities. From managing UPS systems and liquid cooling HVAC equipment to coordinating contractors and ensuring compliance, you'll safeguard the infrastructure that powers our services.
This role requires a hands on technical leader who can diagnose complex issues, guide maintenance activities, uphold rigorous safety standards, and ensure all systems meet enterprise grade expectations for uptime, security, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of all critical electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/liquid cooling systems across the data centre.
- Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, ensuring reliability, uptime, and rapid incident response with structured root cause analysis.
- Manage and optimise critical infrastructure performance including UPS, generators, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, and BMS/EMS systems.
- Ensure full compliance with safety standards, LOTO procedures, permits to work, fire suppression protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation including SOPs, single line diagrams, asset registers, and commissioning records.
- Supervise vendors, contractors, and third party technicians while managing service contracts, warranties, and project deliverables.
- Support facility upgrades, retrofits, and capital projects from scoping through commissioning, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
Technical Expertise:
- Hands on experience with data centre electrical and mechanical systems (main power feeds, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDUs, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pump skids and busbar systems).
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, temperature/humidity control, airflow management and cooling load optimisation.
- Proficiency with BMS/EMS platforms including alarms, trend analysis, setpoint management and commissioning.
- Ability to read and update technical drawings (SLDs, P&IDs, mechanical schematics).
Operational & Maintenance Skills:
- Experience in mission critical environments such as data centres, hospitals or industrial facilities.
- Strong fault diagnosis skills with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with change management, project support and maintenance planning.
Safety & Compliance:
- Knowledge of electrical safety, LOTO procedures, NFPA/OSHA principles and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and operational discipline.
Soft Skills:
- Clear communication skills for incident reporting, stakeholder coordination and technical explanation.
- Strong planning, scheduling and time management abilities.
- Experience mentoring junior team members and supporting team development.
One or more would be an advantage:
- International Facility Management Association (IFMA) certifications (Facility Manager, Certified Facility Manager CFm) (as applicable).
- HVAC-R certifications (EPA 608, EPA 609 as applicable).
- Electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ/ONC/OND in UK; EIT/FE in US; electrical safety certifications).
- NFPA, OSHA, LOTO training (as applicable).
