Are you an experienced senior oncology nurse leader ready to shape the future of cancer care?

GenesisCare UK is seeking an exceptional Matron to lead our Outpatient and SACT nursing teams at our state-of-the-art cancer centre in Guildford. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Matron or senior nursing leader to provide strategic and operational leadership across our Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and Outpatient services, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety and compassionate care.

Working closely with the Centre Leader and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a pivotal role in driving service innovation, developing high-performing teams and delivering an outstanding experience for every patient.

Main duties of the job

As Matron, you'll provide visible clinical leadership across our SACT and Outpatient departments, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with evidence-based practice, regulatory standards and our values.

You'll oversee the day-to-day operational management of both services, lead workforce development and quality improvement initiatives, and champion a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and clinical excellence.

This is an influential leadership position where you'll help shape the future of our services whilst maintaining an unwavering focus on patient-centred care.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across the SACT and Outpatient departments
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary nursing teams, promoting a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture
  • Ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of clinical services in line with national standards and best practice
  • Oversee workforce planning, rostering, recruitment, induction, appraisal and staff development
  • Lead clinical governance, including audits, incident investigations, risk management and quality improvement initiatives
  • Build strong working relationships with consultants, clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient care
  • Oversee clinic utilisation, patient flow and capacity management to maximise service performance
  • Deputise for the Centre Leader when required
