Join a Critical National Infrastructure Programme - Solutions Architect (Devices)

We are looking for a Devices-focused Solutions Architect to join a highly impactful national communications programme supporting the transformation of emergency communications infrastructure across the UK. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled architect to contribute to the modernisation of public safety communications, enabling more efficient and resilient operations for frontline services.

As part of a dynamic Network Services team, you will play a key role in delivering secure, integrated device solutions for vehicle and handheld platforms across a wide range of user organisations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Support onboarding contract delivery, reporting to the programme's Onboarding Technical Manager.
  • Ensure that onboarding services-especially device integration-are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with programme milestones.
  • Lead the integration of Fixed Vehicle and handheld devices into a secure nationwide network service.
  • Manage technical aspects of Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) systems for centralised device configuration and control.
  • Oversee coordination of SIMs, Mobile Data Terminals, and coverage testing processes.
  • Own all architectural and technical elements related to user organisation device integration.
  • Define interface requirements, configurations, and compliance tests in collaboration with service suppliers.
  • Act as a central point of communication for device configuration and integration queries from stakeholders.
  • Attend programme governance and stakeholder meetings to resolve technical issues and ensure delivery continuity.
  • Contribute to the resolution of device onboarding challenges by proposing and supporting implementation of solutions.
  • Work closely with technical leads, user organisations, and suppliers to ensure successful onboarding and integration of devices into live service.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect working with device integration in a national-scale or safety-critical environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with the configuration, build, and testing of vehicle-mounted and handheld communications devices.
  • Deep understanding of large-scale mobility ecosystems, secure communications, and device management.
  • Technical proficiency with EMM systems and mobile/vehicle device platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex interface configurations and lead device onboarding.
  • Track record of working collaboratively with multiple third-party suppliers and end users to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - comfortable translating complex technical matters into clear, actionable plans.

This is a contract role, offering a 6-month term with a day rate of £600 (Inside IR35). The position is hybrid, requiring fortnightly office presence in Chorley and monthly travel to Warwick.
