An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative registered nurse, who is ready to further develop their career by joining our Occupational Health nursing team across Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CAV and CTM UHB).

The appointed individual will be required to work independently as well as within a team providing support for the junior team members. We will support their training and development and help them gain the necessary skills to develop their Occupational Health career.
They will actively participate in the delivery of a professional pro active Employee health and Wellbeing Service for the UHB's and external organisations.
Knowledge and/or experience of Occupational Health, an interest in all aspects of physical and mental health, well being and the impact they may have upon work are an integral part of this role.
The ideal candidate would be able to assist in the development of the service and take a pro active approach in order to influence the health and wellbeing of employees.
Main duties of the jobBased at the Woodland House in Cardiff, this role is 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate may also need to work at other locations across Cardiff and Vale and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Boards (CAV and CTM UHB), therefore the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.
JOB SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSEThe post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision and development of a pro active Occupational Health Service for the employees of; Cardiff and Vale UHB and Cwm Taf Morganwwg UHB and external agencies, in accordance with the statutory requirements.
- The post holder has a responsibility for the provision of specialist clinical services and to advise employees on the prevention of ill health and other aspects of work related health problems.
- The post holder will have continuing responsibility for assessing clinical care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating clinical care programmes in accordance with agreed policy.
- The post holder is expected to accept delegated responsibility for the management of day to day clinic activity.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications- Evidence of relevant professional development
- Post basic qualification at either diploma or degree level in Occupational Health or relevant subject, or working towards
- Relevant teaching qualification
- Post registration experience in Occupational Health or relevant specialty
- Experience of risk assessment
- Experience in nurse led practice
- NHS OH experience
- Managerial experience
- Research and audit experience
- Willingness to extend role in line with NMC scope of Professional Practice
- Spirometry skills
- Knowledge of the health and Wellbeing agenda
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety Regulations
- Understand the principals of Clinical Governance and evidence based practice
- Flexible approach to multi-site working across Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAV UHB) and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTM UHB).
- Ability to energise and engage self and others
- Evidence of practicing the University Health Board (UHB) Values and Behaviours
