Job Description

Blackheath. Are you passionate about promoting safety and ensuring compliance within a Civil Engineering company? My client, a well-established, respected company, is seeking a qualified Occupational / Health and Safety Officer (CHSO) registered at SACPCMP with solid experience within the Civil Engineering industry to join their team. CANDIDATES MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN THE WESTERN CAPE

Overview

CHSO registered with SACPCMP, with Civil Engineering experience, to promote safety and ensure compliance. The candidate must currently reside in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor health and safety protocols on construction sites to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety procedures and practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on safety performance and incidents.
Requirements
  • Valid qualification(s) in Occupational / Construction Health and Safety Management.
  • Previous experience is essential
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing health and safety in the construction industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • SACPCMP registered
  • Valid Drivers Licence
Qualifications / Education Options
  • SACPCMP Construction Health and Safety Officer (CHSO)
  • Completed Programme in Occupational Health and Safety / Construction Health and Safety (NQF Level 3 - 5) or
  • Learnership Certificate in Construction Health and Safety Management (NQF Level 3) or
  • National Diploma in Safety Management or
  • B-Tech in Safety Management / Operational Risk Management
  • At least 2 years experience with a Civil Engineering company
  • CURRENTLY RESIDING IN THE WESTERN CAPE
