Job Description
Nurture Teacher - Sunderland The Education Network are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Nurture Teacher to work within a specialist provision in the Sunderland area. This is a long term opportunity, working with secondary aged pupils who are working below expected levels for their age. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that helps pupils build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. The Role:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 8:30am -4:30pm
- Early finish on Fridays: 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Long-term placement
- Teaching secondary-aged students with additional learning and emotional needs
- Delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning levels
- Supporting pupils with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience working within SEN, nurture groups, alternative provision or behavioural settings is desirable
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
- Ability to differentiate learning for students working below age-related expectations
