The Opportunity Are you an ambitious and reflective Early Years professional ready to step into a pivotal leadership role? We are partnering with a high-standard day nursery in Crawley that is seeking a dedicated Room Leader to join their team this June. This is a vital appointment for the setting as they look to maintain stability and excellence during an urgent period of growth and transition. If you are a "gold standard" practitioner with a passion for mentoring staff and delivering exceptional care, this is the perfect environment to make your mark.

About the Setting

Ideally located for those using public transport, the nursery is approximately a 20-minute flat walk from Three Bridges Railway Station or a quick 4-minute drive. The owner is a hands on leader who is deeply invested in the nursery's success and the wellbeing of the team. You will be joining a setting that prides itself on creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment rich in learning opportunities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Providing daily mentorship and guidance to practitioners within your room, identifying training needs, and leading 1:1 sessions.
  • Educational Excellence: Overseeing all planning and provision to ensure a "curiosity approach" is taken, providing age-appropriate activities that meet individual child needs.
  • Operational Management: Deploying staff and resources effectively to maintain statutory ratios at all times.
  • Safeguarding & Health: Acting as a vigilant protector for all children, ensuring safeguarding procedures, daily risk assessments, and health and safety policies are strictly followed.
  • Parental Partnership: Building and maintaining relationships of trust with families, ensuring continuous communication regarding child progress.
What We Are Looking For
  • Qualifications: You must hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification (Level 4 or above highly desirable).
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior or Room Leader capacity, with a track record of "gold standard" practice.
  • Characteristics: A creative and reflective leader who can implement new ideas and act as a professional role model for the team.
  • Commute: Suitable for candidates based in Crawley or those with easy access to Three Bridges and Crawley transport links.

Safeguarding & Compliance: This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Candidates must provide a full CV history with all gaps accounted for and possess the right to work in the UK. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; as such, two professional references will be required prior to placement.
