Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 or above Early Years Educator with extensive experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our friendly and supportive Nursery team. This is a mixed role, where you will provide targeted support for a child with vision impairment and global developmental delay, while also working within the room to support all children and contribute fully as part of the team.

Role Overview
  • Job Title: Early Years Educator (Level 3) - SEND Support (Mixed Role)
  • Location: SE4
  • Salary: £28,250.30
  • Hours: 38.75 per week
  • Start Date: April 2026
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support in line with the child's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Support the child's learning, communication, and development through play-based activities.
  • Adapt activities and environments to meet sensory and developmental needs.
  • Work closely with the room team, SENCO, and external professionals.
  • Support and engage all children in the room when appropriate.
  • Contribute to planning, observations, and assessments.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure the child feels safe, valued, and supported.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high-quality learning environment.
Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience working with children with SEND.
  • Good understanding of EHCPs and inclusive practice.
  • Patient, caring, and committed to high-quality care and education.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to supporting the setting.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with vision impairment and/or global delay.
