Full Time: 40/42.5 Hours Per Week

What began as one Nursery in 1991, has since grown into four Nurseries that now form The Woodland House Group. Today, the group is made of up of a family of four nurseries based in Redditch and Bromsgrove. Each nursery is led day-to-day by a team of inspiring, passionate and highly skilled people who share the founder's original vision.

Our family of nurseries are also supported by an experienced, approachable and highly moral Head Office team, focused on supporting managers with the day to day operation of each setting, as well as performance management, HR, Finance and Admin support.

Applicants for this role could be placed at any of our settings in Redditch and Bromsgrove. This will be discussed at the time of interview for shortlisted candidates.

What we're looking for

Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years (or equivalent).
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Nursery Manager
Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and EYFS standards.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams.
Excellent communication

A proven track record, with strong references is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a tier system of management is in place and that duties are delegated fairly, maintaining slaff ratios, and ensuring staff are deployed effectively.
  • Promoting high standards of quality care and education within the Nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children, leading practice in thesetting for all team members.
  • Relations including the Children's Act and Every Child Matters.
  • Lead and monitor planning within the setting for all children using the EYFS curriculum, to support and extend children's learning, ensuring accurate and effective children's records are maintained by all staff.
  • To be responsible for a specialist area of practice, ensure your knowledge and skills are kept current in this area and support the staff team appropriately with this.
  • Assist other Nursery staff who have a specialist area of practice, in their day-to-day duties offering support where needed.
  • Ensure that children are kept safe at all times and that you and staff understand and when necessary, know how to follow Safeguarding / ChildProtection Procedures. Complete appropriate training in this area.
  • Ensure that the nutritional needs of t he children are met, and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
  • Work with staff in all specialist areas of practice who may involve area SENCOs, EYFS advisors, health professionals and local Sure Start programmesas appropriate
  • Ensure that staff are following the key person procedures in line with company policies and procedures and EYFS guidelines.
  • Remain a breast of current developments in childcare and education policy and practice, through publications and purposeful training to continue your personal development.
