Nursery Cook

Nest Embassy Gardens is our newest nursery, at 14 New Union Square, Nine Elms, SW11, for children from 6 months to 5 years. We're looking for a permanent Nursery Cook to run our kitchen and cook fresh, healthy food that our children love, Monday to Friday, with no evenings or weekends.

What you'll do

• Cook fresh breakfasts, lunches, teas and snacks from our seasonal menu, which changes each term and rotates on a four-week cycle
• Cater safely for allergies and dietary needs in our nut-free kitchen, from weaning babies to pre-schoolers
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food safety standards, including temperature and cleaning records
• Order stock and manage deliveries within budget
• Work closely with the nursery team and parents, and occasionally help children with simple baking sessions

What we're looking for

• Experience cooking in a nursery, school, care home or other professional kitchen
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate, or willingness to complete it before you start
• Confidence managing allergens and special diets
• Reliability, organisation and pride in your kitchen
• An enhanced DBS check: we'll arrange it, and you'll keep it registered on the DBS Update Service
