Nursery: Children 1st Leicester Nursery School by Storal

Address: Tarragon Road, Leicester LE2 7ET
Hours: 35 hours per week. 8am till 3pm
Salary: £13.25 per hour

How you'll spend your time here

As a Nursery Chef/Cook, you'll prepare nutritious, freshly made meals whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene in the nursery kitchen at all times. Your flexibility and reliability will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

  • Managing the kitchen
  • Cooking and preparing all meals from scratch with fresh local food
  • Catering for children with specific dietary needs
  • Working to a high level regarding Food and Hygiene, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety and Ofsted guidelines and regulations
  • Ensuring that all children have rich stimulating eating experiences
  • Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation
  • Following COSHH and other relevant guidelines
We'd love to talk to you if you have the following
  • Experience within a busy kitchen environment
  • Demonstrable experience as a skilled Cook ideally in a School or Nursery setting
  • Minimum NVQ level 1 or 2 in Catering or equivalent
  • Excellent culinary skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills are essential
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
