Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly, forward-thinking clinical team for 4 6 sessions per week. About UsWe are a small, friendly, semi rural practice serving 6,500 patients and are looking for a Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Nurse Practitioner for 4 6 sessions per week.
Responsibilities- Work under direct clinical guidance and supervision of a named GP, within a formal clinical governance framework.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment for patients presenting with differentiated and pre triaged conditions under GP approved protocols (e.g., minor ailments, chronic disease review, acute presentations).
- Prescribe and review medication in accordance with evidence based practice and national protocols, within the scope approved by the supervising GP.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions using drug and non drug based management, as delegated by the clinical team.
- Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments, and ensure practice is safe and effective within competence boundaries.
- Arrange prompt referral to the supervising GP or other team members if conditions are complex or outside the agreed scope.
- Contribute to chronic disease management clinics, quality and compliance tasks, and audit participation.
- Primary care experience, including nurse practitioner or advanced nurse practitioner role.
- Validated prescribing authority and experience with national medication protocols.
- Knowledge of GP approved clinical protocols and chronic disease management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continual professional development and quality improvement.
- Experience in primary care nursing practice.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills.
- Ability to work autonomously under GP supervision.
- Knowledge of practice management systems (e.g., SystmOne).
- Understanding of health and safety, confidentiality, and equality & diversity policies.
