A large law firm in Newcastle is seeking an NQ Corporate Solicitor to join its high-performing and nationally recognised corporate team.
The team advises clients across the full spectrum of corporate transactions, with a strong reputation for delivering commercially focused, technically excellent advice on complex and high-value deals. With a consistent ranking among the UK's top corporate dealmakers for several consecutive years, the team is trusted by businesses ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to established private companies and institutional investors.
You will join a 25-strong team of corporate lawyers operating across multiple UK offices, working collaboratively on transactions that shape the future of businesses. The team has a strong national footprint, with colleagues based across key regional centres including the North of England, and regularly advising clients on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to gain exposure to a broad range of corporate work, develop strong client relationships early in their career, and build expertise in a supportive yet fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Mergers and acquisitions (buy-side and sell-side)
- Private equity and venture capital transactions
- Management buy-outs (MBOs) and management buy-ins (MBIs)
- Fundraising and capital raising initiatives
- Public company takeovers and listings
- Joint ventures and strategic investments
- Due diligence exercises and transaction support
- Competition law considerations in corporate transactions
- Tax structuring input in collaboration with specialist advisers
- Employment-related aspects of corporate deals
- General advisory work for UK corporates
- Be a newly qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or qualifying shortly)
- Have a strong grounding in corporate law during training
- Demonstrate excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Show commercial awareness and an interest in business and finance
- Be confident working both independently and as part of a wider team
- Be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality client service
