What You'll Do
As a key member of our Design Engineering Team, you'll lead NPI projects through structured gated processes, collaborating across departments to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery. You'll influence product development from early design through prototyping, engineering builds, and full production handover. Additionally, you'll be undertaking design and development activities for efficient, high yield, high quality manufacturing ensuring design and manufacturing best practices are followed at all stages.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing safe manufacturing processes from concept to production
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in product and manufacturing processes
- Preparing control documents and providing technical support to all relevant departments when necessary for technicians to pick, build, inspect, test and pack products
- Preparing the design package for transfer to production, as well as monitoring BoM (bill of material) changes, developing ERP routings, process flows, build timings and manufacturing cell layouts
- Supporting the design, commissioning, and training of production line tooling, jigs, fixtures and equipment to support manufacturing processes
- Carrying out process validation for new and existing manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements
We're looking for someone with:
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with FMEA, SolidWorks (and Composer), and ERP systems (SAP B1 preferred).
- Ability to interpret pneumatic/electrical schematics.
- A hands-on, methodical approach and understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bonus points for knowledge of PSA, Nitrogen Membrane, or Hydrogen Cell technologies!
